Last week I had my first "official" appointment with the doctors office. While it was long, it wasn't terribly exciting. I got to sit with one of the Nurses and go over my medical history and then get packet upon packet of information. Lots of Dos and Don'ts lists and other informational junk. The highlight was at the end when I had to figure out how to pee a little, stop, and then pee some more into a tiny cup without touching the inside edge and without peeing on my hand. It was even more exciting than giving vials of blood.
Email excerpt:
Although he's barely the size of a kumquat a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby now has completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.
