Spreading the news far and wide...

is quite the task. It's been our little secret for so long that it doesn't seem quite right to just blurt this kind of information out. So, I've tried to come up with some creative ways to tell some friends.

Some highlights:

To tell Kristen, I made her take a picture with me claiming that we haven't taken one of just the 2 of us in a while. Hoping to capture her reaction on film, I blurted out 'guess who's knocked up?' while depressing the shutter. Unfortunately, I am a boob and had the flash turned off so the picture's a blurry mess. Oh well, it was still funny.

Meghan R was told to get ready to feel old as she's always said things about how it will make her feel old when Bill and I decide to have kids.

I asked Sarah, who I am helping to throw a baby shower for next month if she would mind having a little competition at the shower. Dave, her husband, claims to have been tipped off when I mentioned our new car's safety features, but he didn't know back in December!

When asked what's new by Lisa C, I had nothing clever other than to say "oh yah, I'm knocked up."

Megs was asked if she knew what Jamie Lynn Spears and I have in common.

Aileen was asked if she had room for another guest at her wedding.

I'm saving the best for last. I will preface this story by saying that I am a mean mean friend. Dina and I were talking about Sarah's shower, and then we talked about some other stuff, about 20 minutes worth of stuff. I haven't seen Dina since May, so when she comes up for Sarah's shower it will have been even longer since we've seen each other. Here's the mean part. I told Dina that I didn't want her to worry if I looked different when she saw me as I have a medical condition. What can I say, I must have been convincing because with great concern in her voice she asked me what was wrong. With great excitement I told her "I HAVE A BABY IN MY BELLY!" Once she figured out what I said it was funny, but I'm sorry to have had a laugh at your expense, Dina.

I'm still working my way through everyone and we've recruited our parents to share the news with our extended families. So, if you read this and you weren't the first to know, please know that we still love you and are very excited to have you share in the fun.
