I don't really need them yet, but I bought a couple of pairs of maternity pants "just in case" from Target the other day. Even though I know it's unlikely, part of me is worried that I'll wake up one morning and nothing except pajama pants will fit anymore. I do feel a little fluffier, but don't have anything that I would identify as a discernible baby bump. Even so, because the pants I bought aren't obviously maternity pants I totally wore one of the pairs this week. It was like wearing sweat pants to work and was fabulous, but I don't know that I'll do it again because they do seem to need more tummy to hold them up better. Perhaps I'll finally start taking some pictures to document the progression soon.
As far as the baby goes, it's a growing machine. Here's what my email excerpt has to say about it:
Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head which makes up just a third of her body size now. If you're having a girl, she now has more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby is almost 3 inches long (the size of a medium shrimp) and weighs nearly an ounce. As you start your second trimester, most of your baby's critical development will be completed and your odds of miscarriage drop considerably.
