5 weeks

I signed up to get emails that tell me what's going on in my tummy each week. They're fun to read and make me realize how awesome the whole process is.

An excerpt:

Your baby is about the size of a sesame seed, and he looks more like a tiny tadpole than a human. The big development this week: Your baby's brain is beginning to grow! It develops from the neural tube, a structure that will also spawn your baby's spinal cord, nerves, and backbone

So, that's pretty sweet!

Oh, and though I've done some griping lately, we haven't lost sight of how neat this is. We really are pretty stoked to have a wee little one in just 35 more weeks. Though it seems forever away, we've already talked about our hopes and wishes for him/her. Basically, we want the perfect blend of each of our best respective traits. If only we could control that. I guess will just have to love what we get. I'm sure it will be perfect in our eyes anyway.
