Becky and Bill get handy '08

We were get things done machines this weekend. On Saturday, I picked up the rug we bought, bought a new bookcase from an unfinished wood furniture sore, found some fabric that I think will be good for the curtain panels and crib skirt and got the paint, stain, and other handy supplies. Bill moved furniture around and did some cleaning while I was gone in preparation for Becky and Bill get handy '08 fest that was to follow.

The weather forecast lied to us and said it was supposed to rain, but when it was bright and sunny Bill was sent outside to stain the new bookcase. The dandelion fuzzies made it a challenge, but he persevered like a champ. Meanwhile I prepped the room that will be the baby's for painting. I have a love/hate relationship with painters tape as a result. It's such a tedious task to put up, but makes for oh so nice clean edges. When the staining was done on the book shelf we moved it to the basement as cloud cover did indicate that the weatherman wasn't a total crackhead. Priming and painting ensued, and save for a few spots that needed touching up everything came out pretty well. However, I was sore on Monday and needed to gingerly sit myself down the way a proper pregnant lady should when she sits. Even so, touch ups were completed and then I got to do the most fun part of painting - pulling off the tape!

I have my 28 week appointment tomorrow and I have to drink my bright orange glucose drink an hour beforehand so that they can test me for Gestational Diabetes. I'm telling myself that it's going to taste like Orange Soda. I can't even remember the last time that I had me some Orange Crush, but I remember liking it alright. Though, maybe I'm thinking of the R.E.M song by that title.
